I wanted to make a little reclist for folks who might be new to Quantum Break, since I've been here forever and I'm always trying to drag new people into this fandom with me.

I've done my best to link to the original posts for art and edits, but as most of those come from Tumblr and people change usernames on Tumblr a lot, breaking reblog chains, some will be linked from the nearest to the original source I can get. For all other fanworks, I'll provide direct links.

Additionally, I'm aware that my recommendations skew heavily in the direction of Jack/Paul. Yes, I know I have a bias. I've tried to include some gen stuff and some other ships as well, but be aware that that's my OTP here, so it's over-represented, lol.

Also, some of these are very meme-y and some of them are very serious. There's a thorough mix of vibes here. I never said this was a GOOD rec list, it's just things that I like.

Lastly, I also wanted to provide some recommendations for Let's Plays and walk through videos that people can watch to get the full game experience, even if they can't afford to buy the game itself. Those recommendations will be listed first!

Let's Plays and Walkthrough Videos:
- Quantum Break All Cutscenes "Movie" (Full Story) from RabidRetrospectGames | About 6 hours long. This shows the story of the game, but cuts out some gameplay. This is the video I usually reference if I am looking for some plot beat and only remember approximately where in the story it occurs.
- Quantum Break All Cutscenes (Game Movie) from Gamer's Little Playground | About 5 hours long. Similar to the above, this shows the story but cuts some gameplay. I believe the Junction choices taken in this playthrough are somewhat different from the first as well.
- Quantum Break Walkthrough (Playlist) by MKIceAndFire | This is a full walkthrough of the game, including the gameplay, broken up into multiple videos in a playlist. The first video is about 2 hours long, but the rest after that are about 20 minutes long each, and there are 20 of them. This is the playlist I reference when I need to look up something about a gameplay location and don't want to boot up my XBox to go find it myself.

Fanvids:
- time is the fire in which we burn. by BΛRKER | This is my all-time favorite fanvid. I rewatch this at least once a month. It's short so you have no excuse, go watch it.
- JackPaul Time Bomb GMV by Morikron | Another of my faves! I just love All Time Low, and I love Jack/Paul. So this is a classic.
- [Quantum Break] I Feel Nothing. by Sarge | A Jack/Paul fanvid that introduced me to a song I'm kind of obsessed with now.
- Jack & Paul | If I Only Could by TechnicMedic | I am eternally a sucker for every version of "Running Up That Hill," so obviously I love this vid.
- Quantum Break || Believer GMV by Morikron | Why yes, I do have a thing for Paul Serene combined with religious imagery. Why do you ask?
- Making Games Is Hard by Remedy Entertainment | Okay, so this isn't a fanvid, it's an actual promotional video from the company that made Quantum Break. But it's extremely funny and you should watch it. Just trust me on this one. (On a similar note, you should also check out this live reading of "Time Knife" from the game, because it's hilarious.)

- You Need To Let Go by berrysoda | The mix's description on 8tracks says it best: "a mix for Jack and his fragile yet altruistically compassionate relationships with a few of the most crucial people in his life."
- A RACE AGAINST TIME by jennasaispas | This mix was instrumental in my quest to find The Sound for writing Quantum Break fic back in 2016. Love it.
- can't escape by ChangeTheCircumstances | I think this may have been the first Jack/Paul mix I listened to? It rules, lots of extremely dramatic and epic music.
- time bomb by wilhelmina | Another epic kind of mix, but with a more electronic and upbeat lean. Good vibes overall. I listened to this while drawing a lot in 2016.
- Help, I'm Alive by Saycheeze | A Will Joyce playlist that has really shaped how I see him as a character, emotionally speaking. Also, it introduced me to several new artists.
- I'll Come Back for You by MyFreeSpirit23 | A Jack/Beth mix. If you like Jack/Beth, you'll probably appreciate the vibes. Nice mix of chill stuff and more pop-y stuff.
- Even if it kills me by ChangeTheCircumstances | Oh YEAH baby, this is probably my favorite Jack/Paul mix on 8tracks. Impeccable vibes, lots of fun dancey songs, surprisingly lighthearted and upbeat while still maintaining the Drama and Tragedy inherent to Jack/Paul as a pairing. Peak fanmix.
- a friend / an old enemy by CMDonovann | Yup, this one's mine. It's Jack/Paul, and I think it's fun! This playlist is also available with a full track list on my personal website, here.

- Like Nothing Ever Happened Here by cmdonovann | A post-canon fic in which Paul comes back from the dead with amnesia. Jack/Paul, M, 68,531 words, 20 chapters, completed in 2020. Do I feel bad reccing my own work? Nah. It's a good fic. Go read it. There's also cover art for it here.
- Reflections In Glass by GS_Pier | A canon-divergent fic in which all the action happens before Jack leaves Riverport in 2010. Jack/Paul, M, 19,224 words, 9 chapters, completed in 2019. I haven't read it since it completed, but I remember enjoying it quite a bit, so I'm reccing it.
- chest out, just like a soldier by oldbooksandnutella | A scene rewrite of the interrogation scene in the "Prisoner" episode. Jack/Paul, T, 1,086 words, 1 chapter, complete. There are a couple of fics with different takes on this scene, but the changed dialogue in this one makes it my favorite so far.
- Remember That Time... by DaveCumstaine | A pre-canon fic in which Jack and Paul get drunk and make out. Jack/Paul, T, 1,764 words, 1 chapter, complete. I enjoy the dialogue in this one as well, it's fun to see them try to affectionately insult each other.
- The New Normal by vesaldi | A post-canon fic exploring the relationship between Jack and Beth, as well as the lives of Will and Paul, after they fix the Fracture (and Beth survives). Jack/Beth, T, 50,994 words, 35 chapters, incomplete and last updated in 2021. It's also got trans Jack Joyce, which I always love to see.
- My Bleeding Clock by vesaldi | After eight years of living in the past, Beth goes to watch Jack's band play. Beth Wilder, T, 1,107 words, 1 chapter, complete. I just think this is a fun little scene, and an interesting glimpse into Beth's life in the past.
- hey jealousy by chemicalcain | "if you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down." Paul comes home not long after graduation and receives an unexpected visit from Jack. Jack/Paul, T, 4,777 words, 1 chapter, complete. This is an AU in which the Fracture and time travel stuff never happens, yet it still manages to maintain delightfully accurate banter between Jack and Paul. I love them, your honor.
- Surrender by cmdonovann | A scene rewrite of the final battle. Written in 2nd person POV (from Jack's POV) as an experiment. Jack/Paul (implied), T, 1,378 words, 1 chapter, complete. I'm reccing my own fic again because this one's actually pretty good, and I think Paul ought to go feral more often.
- Before the Storm by cmdonovann | Emails that Paul Serene never sent. Jack/Paul, G, 1,564 words, 1 chapter, complete. Another of my own fics that I think is pretty good, though also a bit experimental with the format.
- Quantum Break (2016) TRUE ENDING by mortimermcmirestinks | "you only get this ending if you collect all 900 pinecones," according to the author's notes. Gen, T, 297 words, 1 chapter, complete. Listen, I just think this one's really funny. This is pure crack. But the "the author's too lazy to rewatch cutscenes" part gets me every time, lmao.
- The Door by bioluminesce | Martin Hatch scans the length and breadth of time, back and forth, and finds a new thing. Gen, G, 1,732 words, 1 chapter, complete. This is a crossover with Remedy's more recent game, Control (2019), so if you're unfamiliar with Control, this may not make sense. But the writing is lovely, so I have to recommend it.

That's all my recs! Wow, this got way longer than I thought it would. And I still feel like I have more stuff to mention! Augh! Well, this fandom is basically my home, so I suppose it's no surprise.
